A weekly vigil organized outside Manhattan correction facility by the Theaters Against War to protest detention of a Pakistani American, Fahad Hashmi Monday night had more people, more speakers and a larger cause.
On the eve of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s trial many were focused on her case.
Prominent anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan who spoke at the vigil told us: “we need to call attention to the people who are unjustly, illegally and immorally detained because the acts of our government.”
Sarah Flounders of Workers World was not very optimistic that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui will find justice in New York.
But Khalil Meek of Muslims Legal Fund of America was more hopeful about the justice system.
