Zubair you are touting for American touts! It is Amazing to see how low one can go. If you are in Pakistani army I can still respect you because then you are getting paid to tout. But, if you are not even in Pakistani army and still touting for them I’ll ask are you getting paid or you are a tout by nature, you just have fun touting? Touting for touts! WOW!

One of the best articles written by a Pakistani. I am really encouraged by this analysis. I don’t feel alone anymore in saying that Pakistan army is American puppy. Actually everyone in Pakistan knows this fact. Even if you ask rickshaw wala he will say the same thing. Americans don’t want democracy in Pakistan they just want a watchdog. Politicians are two weak to do this and army is for sale.

Why would we not support the Pakistan army? The army is the only institution in Pakistan that is stable and fully functional, period. Mr. Malick are you a patriot? Do you know what would happen if the Pak army declined to help America and it’s war of terror? Mr. Malick any patriot would do what the Pak army did….”keep your friends close but your enemies even closer”. The Pak army already knows the outcome of the war in Afghanistan….they know the harsh realities of politics and American support and what it means. In the long term its not America that requires Afghanistan for strategic depth but us.
And the civilian govt. you talk abt…well they are nothing more than bloody racist feudal lords and thugs, who have time and time again sucked resources and valuables from all over Pakistan jst to keep Punjab afloat. Is Punjab only Pakistan?
If you talk abt change Mr. Malick, then all you need is to start beheading these feudal lords one by one….teach them what FEAR is.

A nice article. You have rightly concluded that change could come only from within. Army does not hold that sacred position in the minds of the people though they manage to hang on to the privileges of domination. Democracy must continue and this process could see the rise of a political government capable of handling the army as a subservient institution. Peace.

Please shah sb counter an intellectual argument with an intellectual one rather then trying to counter it with an outright abuse! The educated don´t do this!
